You do a lot as a parent to make sure your children get everything they need in life. There are even government programs out there specifically for such a situation. The Registered Education Savings Plan is one such example. The RESP program allows you to contribute money into an account for your kids that is used for to pay for their education when the time arrives. The benefit of such a program, unlike a normal savings account, is that it is tax free. So, whether your child idolizes doctors or class action lawyers, they'll have a head start to become whatever it is they want when they're ready after completing their high school education.
